I received an interesting question from one of my members and thought it might make a great blog post in case anyone else was interested.
The topic at hand is eggs and if you were to make an egg white omelette or anything with just the whites, what do you do with the yolks?
One more question ....any tips on what you can do or make with the yoke when doing egg white meals? Do you just bin them? Which am happy to do but like mom always says 'there are starving children in Africa' 😊....
I'm literally incapable of wasting food, I just can't do it. So for this reason I actually buy my egg whites in a carton. The brand you can buy in supermarkets is called TwoChicks liquid egg whites, you can also buy liquid egg whites online at MuscleFood.
Two Chicks can be convenient to pick up at your local store but they have to be kept in the fridge and used straight away, MuscleFood cartons are double the size for the same price and can be kept on the shelf for 12-21 days or frozen for even longer life.
If you prefer using actual eggs or you have an endless supply because your lucky enough to own chickens then how about using the yolks to make a healthy homemade mayonnaise. I like this recipe from Eat Drink Paleo.
I'd just like to add that egg yolks are super healthy and nutritious, full of healthy fats and vitamins. The only reason why I sometimes omit them is because I would rather enjoy another fat source such as avocados or cheese to stay within my daily calorie target.
Otherwise, eat up those yolks.
